How does a pressure cooker work?

    All to your taste

A pressure cooker is also called a pressure cooker. A pressure cooker because pressure is built up during cooking, making the cooking time much shorter. Dishes like risotto, soup and hachee are cooked in a significantly faster time. But how exactly does such a pressure cooker work?

This is how a pressure cooker works

Several things are very important when cooking with a pressure cooker.

    1. The maximum amount in the pot. Because the pan will be under so much pressure, it is important not to fill more than 2/3 of the pan. It is important because there must be room for the pressure created in the pan, if the pan is too full there is no more room to cook and the pan cannot handle the pressure properly.
    2. Secure the lid properly. The lid of a pressure cooker can be tightened; how this can be done varies from pot to pot. With the WMF pan used in the video, it is a sliding system. Either way, the lid must be tight, only in this way can enough pressure build up to speed up the cooking process.
    3. The valve is very important. When the pan is put on high heat, the contents start to boil. When the contents boil, the valve closes. At this point it is important to turn the heat down low and this is when the cooking time starts.
    4. When the cooking time has passed, it is important to be careful. The pan contains a lot of very hot steam, which you do not want to release too quickly. Keep your hands away from the edges of the pan and open the lid slowly, using only the handle. This way, you can slowly release the steam and when all the steam is gone, you can open the pan completely. Some pans are also suitable for holding under the cold tap first so that there is almost no steam left in the pan.
