Marcello Jori
Marcello Jori was born on December 12 in the year 1951 in Merano in northern Italy. Today, Jori lives and works in Bologna. After receiving his degree in Drama, Art and Music in Bologna, Marcello's career began in 1977.
In the mid-1970s Marcello took his first tentative steps toward certainly conceptual movements, here he soon stepped out again after which he openly went against the cold and austere aspects of the movement in an attempt to give art a new life.
He did this with a series of photographic works, where he reinterpreted and modernized classic masterpieces. In this way, he brought art back to the human level and gave the works more meaning again by transforming them into something real.
In addition to painting, Marcello Jori has also dedicated himself to Alessi for painting a number of Christmas figures.
