Mario Trimarchi
Sicily; the ball that the "boot" Italy seems to be kicking against. On this beautiful island, in the city of Messina, the designer Mario Trimarchi was born. In 1983, he moved all the way to the other side of Italy; the city of Milan. Earning his Masters in Industrial Design from the Domus Academy in 1984 was the beginning of a long collaboration between the academy and Trimarchi. From 1994 to 1998 he worked as Director of Advanced design.
Trimarchi was also part of the Olivetti Design Studio for 11 years. Here he worked with, among others, the Italian designer Michele De Lucchi. In 2000, he stopped working at the Olivetti Design studio and founded his own studio; FRAGILE. One of his biggest clients is the Poste Italiane.
Trimarchi has created designs for companies such as Artemide, Serafino, Zani and Alessi. For the latter brand, his designs include home accessories, including this unusual tray.
