How to make your own poffertjes

  1. First make the batter, either by buying a mix or by making it yourself. Also at Cookinglife you can buy poffertjes batter in the combination deal with a poffertjes pan.
  2. Grab your poffertjes pan! On the site we have pans suitable for induction as well as all other heat sources. Coat the pan with butter using a brush and make sure the butter melts well and gets hot.
  3. Then fill the dimples with the batter. A dimple should be filled about halfway because the batter will still rise a bit, making it a fluffy puff.
  4. Keep a close eye on the poffertjes! When the top of the poffertjes is dry or almost dry, it is time to turn them over. With a skewer, the poffertjes are easy to turn.
  5. Remove the poffertjes from the pan when they are golden brown on both sides.
  6. Place the poffertjes on a plate, with a knob of butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar. And enjoy!
