Monica Forster
Monica Förster believes that the idea behind her products is the most important starting point. She feels she cannot move forward with the shape, color and details until she has resolved the original concept. Monica has a strong understanding of mouldwhich, combined with her curiosity about new technology and understanding of origins, produces work that is innovative and exciting.
Monica Förster was born in northern Sweden. She has become a leading light in Scandinavian design. Since 1999, she has run her own studio in Stockholm, where she works on products as diverse as lighting, ceramics, furniture and rugs for brands such as Georg Jensen. Her natural curiosity for new materials and production techniques leads her to constantly explore innovative construction methods: 'A good collaboration often starts with a factory visit, listening and observing the company's heritage. I really enjoy being close to production '.
