A pressure cooker is a heavy pan with a large heat capacity. Despite this, only little water needs to be added to the kook and saves energy. The food in it is prepared above 100 degrees Celsius and is therefore ready sooner. Using the pressure cooker also preserves more vitamins because the cooking time is shorter.
Using a pressure cooker
To use your pressure cooker, fill the cooker with water (max. two-thirds). You can then use the cooker with or without the wire rack or basket. You close the cooker with a clean lid in a circular motion. Then adjust the pressure or put the pressure valve on the pan.
When the pan begins to hiss, the pressure has been reached. Now the heat can be turned down so that the pan continues to sizzle gently. With a pressure cooker, cooking time begins when it is fully pressurized. Opening the pressure cooker is allowed when the pressure is off. This can be done by slowly opening the valve or cooling the cooker under the cold tap.
