Wiel Arets
A designer from Dutch soil! Wiel Arets was born in Heerlen, Limburg, on May 6, 1955. At an early age, Arets inherited his love for books and reading from his parents; his father was in fact a book printer. After several detours, the designer eventually chose to study architecture at the Technical University in Eindhoven.
Arets taught the subject of Building Planning and Design at the Berlin University of the Arts. He also spent several years at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam. Arets' work can be recognized by a geometric, minimalist and austere approach.
