A Cafetiere is a glass pitcher with a mental sieve and lid with which to brew coffee. A Cafetiere is also known as a French Press. Because you don't need filters for a Cafetiere, it retains its delicious flavor through ground coffee. In the video, Kelly uses 30 grams of ground coffee and 60 ml of boiling water. Always make sure you use twice as much water as coffee. You will need a kettle and ground coffee for a Cafetiere.
How do you use a Cafetiere?
- First, rinse the Cafetiere with boiling water so the jug is hot.
- Then put the ground coffee in the Cafetiere. Add the boiling water, making sure it is just boiling.
- Gently stir the water with the ground coffee.
- Put the lid on, but do not push it down yet.
- This will keep the heat in the Cafetiere. Then wait for 4 minutes.
- Then gently, with not too much force, push the lid down.
- This will push the ground coffee down and create delicious fresh coffee in the Cafetiere.
