With red wine, the idea is to let the wine come into contact with oxygen. The red wine glass is designed with a wide chalice, allowing the taste and smell of the wine to be enriched. However, among the red wine glasses, there are again two categories. Burgundy and Bordeaux glasses. Burgundy glasses have an even wider chalice than bordeaux glasses; one red wine needs more oxygen to reach its full potential than another red wine. Red wine is poured just below the chalice, this is to prevent spillage during rolling. Rolling, on the other hand, is necessary to get the oxygen into the wine properly and optimize the taste.
