Like music, scented candles and home perfumes are made up of different notes. When you understand fragrance notes and know how they work, you know how to find the perfect scent every time. These fragrance notes can be distinguished into: top, heart and base notes. Below will briefly show what the function of these three fragrance notes are:
The top notes contain ingredients that will be immediately revealed in the first few minutes after igniting the house perfume. This fragrance note is very dominant and is therefore meant to grab your attention. In addition, the top notes exude the first impression of the fragrance. After about ten minutes, these scents fade into the background and this fragrance note will hardly be smellable in your living room.
The ingredients that make up the heart notes will only reveal themselves after the top notes have largely disappeared. This is about ten minutes after burning the candle. These fragrance notes are the most important part of a fragrance and often include different floral types. Not for nothing are floral notes described in the perfume world as typical heart notes. The heart notes will be the most obvious and the longest present and usually do not dissipate for two hours.
Base notes are all the ingredients that remain after the heart notes have largely disappeared. Therefore, these fragrance notes will only reveal themselves after two hours. In addition, base notes linger in your living room for a long time and constantly give off a scent. An example of typical base notes are different woods or spices.
