Glasses for special beer

To fully enjoy a good beer, pour it into a beer glass. Whether it is an ordinary lager, a special beer or a white beer, the glass does influence the taste and thereby the taste experience. Therefore, beer brewers almost always have their own glass developed so that the taste of their beer can be best appreciated. There is one maxim when it comes to beer glasses: bottom-fermenting beers taste best in a high and narrow glass, such as a flute or vase. Top-fermenting beers deserve a short and bulbous glass, in which the aromas of the beer get more space.

Beer glasses for Weizen are large, usually holding half a liter. This gives you a nice head of foam after pouring. The type of glass looks something like an hourglass, from wide to narrow to wide. The famous Weizen beers come from Germany, such as Paulaner, Franziskaner and Erdinger. Witbier is often confused with Weizen, and seen as one style because of this. Glasses for white beer are generally coarse and sturdy. Often a straight model which is slightly wider at the top and characterized by the stripes.
The vase is well known to popular pub tigers. If you order a beer in the pub you usually get it in a vase. The glass is tapered and fits 25cl. The flute is also a typical Dutch glass. Elongated, narrow and straight so the foam stays in nicely. This type of glass also comes with a foot and both are suitable for lager and other bottom-fermenting beers.
The spherical beer glass is suitable for top-fermenting beer. This develops a nice head and keeps the aromas in. Many types of beer come into their own in a spherical beer glass or in a tulip glass. Especially the special Belgian beers. The glasses are generally elegant and have a sturdy base. Everything to optimally enjoy a special beer. The contents vary from 250 to 300 ml.
