Ingredients

  • 1 kg stovetop pears of your choice
  • 400 ml red wine
  • 75 gram sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise
  • 3 cloves

Stew pears

    1. Peel the pears. I leave the stalks because it looks so beautiful when serving. You can also cut the pears into quarters and remove the core (and the stalk).
    2. Put the red wine, sugar, cinnamon sticks, star anise and cloves in a large frying pan. Put the pears in the pan and make sure that the pears are just under water. If necessary, supplement with water, how much you need depends on your pan.
    3. Bring the whole to the kook And then let it simmer for about 2 hours on low heat with the lid on the pan.
    4. You can now reduce the sauce so that you can pour over the stewed pears when serving. To do this, remove pears from the pan and keep them separate. The reduction takes about 15 minutes, depending on how thick you want the sauce. Enjoy your meal!
