Maria Berntsen
Maria Berntsen is a Danish designer born in Copenhagen. In 1992 she graduated from the Academy of Art in Copenhagen and L'Ecole d'Architecture de Bordeaux. She then started her own design studio. Since then, she has worked with several Danish and international brands such as Tefal and Holmegaard and in 2000 began her collaboration with Georg Jensen. About her designs she says:
"A good design should be simple and functional. It must be harmonious and well conceived."

Maria Berntsen does not specialize in one particular product and is therefore also considered an all-round designer. She can apply her beautiful designs to any shape. And that is well received! Multiple popular Georg Jensen collections, such as the Beak thermos, the Mirror jewelry line and the Maria Berntsen Glow candlesticks are to her credit. Maria Berntsen has also won several prestigious awards for her unique designs including multiple Red Dot Design Awards and iF Design Awards.
