To keep your favorite kitchen knife razor sharp, it is important to maintain them properly. Proper maintenance includes sharpening the knives, this prevents them from becoming blunt. Sharpening knives can be done in different ways, for example, you can here knife sharpeners, sharpening steel or whetstones. But the sharpest results are achieved with whetstones!

The use of whetstones
- Before use, place the whetstones in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes.
- Then place it right side up in a non-slip holder or on a tea towel.
- Tilt the knife so as to create a 15 - 25° angle.
- Then pull the knife along the stone with long strokes. Repeat this several times.
- Then turn the knife over and repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Repeat the process with a finer grit to make your knife razor-sharp.
- And voila, your knife is like new again!
