Induction Skillets

A good induction skillet is a must in any kitchen. An induction skillet has high sides, making it ideal for small stir-fries, thick cuts of meat, and pasta sauces. An induction pan has a bottom made of a large amount of ferromagnetic material, which allows the pan to heat up quickly on an induction hob. At Cookinglife you will find a wide range of induction skillets, and you can choose from the most common brands, materials, colors, sizes, and models.

A 28 cm induction frying pan

Induction skillets come in different sizes in terms of diameter. So there's a pan to suit everyone's needs. The 28 cm induction frying pan, for example, is suitable for 4-5 people.

To make things easier for you, here's a list of sizes to suit the number of people you'll be cooking for.

  • A 24 cm diameter induction skillet is suitable for 1-2 people.

  • A 26 cm diameter induction skillet is suitable for 4 people.

  • A large induction skillet with a diameter of 28 or 32 cm is suitable for 4 to 8 people.

Induction skillet with lid

An induction skillet has high sides to prevent splashes and spills. That said, the usefulness of a lid cannot be overlooked. An induction skillet with a lid lets you steam your ingredients, preserving their moisture and flavour. One of the advantages of a glass lid is that you can monitor the cooking process without having to remove the lid from the pan.

What criteria should I take into account when buying an induction skillet?

To help you find the best induction skillet, we've listed a few points to consider below.

  • Non-stick coating: does the induction skillet have a non-stick coating? The advantage of a pan without a non-stick coating is that your food dries quickly, the pan has a long life and the temperature stays high for a long time. The disadvantage is that you have to create your own natural non-stick coating by greasing the pan well before each use. If you have a non-stick pan, your food won't burn easily and your pan will be more resistant to scratches.

  • Pan material: your choice will be between a copper, stainless steel, cast iron or steel induction frying pan? Think carefully about your choice of material, as each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron, for example, is very strong and durable, but quite heavy. Stainless steel saucepans, on the other hand, are lightweight. Make sure you know the advantages and disadvantages of all the materials before making your choice.

  • Size: how big does an induction skillet need to be? You need to consider the size of the group you usually cook for. You should also think about possible future changes. After all, good pans last a long time, so it would be a shame if your pan was too small in a year's time.

  • Brand: Looking for a specific brand? In our extensive range, you'll find top brands such as Le Creuset, Iittala, Eva Solo, WMF and Rosle.

  • Design: of course, the eye has something to say too. At Cookinglife, you'll find induction skillets in all sorts of styles. From elegant stainless steel models to cheerful colours.

  • Lid: Do you want your dish to cook quickly? Then choose a sauteuse with a lid. You'll be able to cook your dish much more quickly.

  • Edges: pay attention to the height of the edges of the induction frying pan. The higher the edges of the pan, the less risk you run of spilling your dish during cooking. What's more, a high rim allows the heat to stay in the pan better.

  • Dishwasher safe: Would you like to wash your induction skillet in the dishwasher? Make sure it's dishwasher safe. At Cookinglife, you'll find this information on the product sheet.
