The classic EM77 jug remains one of Stelton's best-selling designs. The patented rocker stopper makes it possible to serve with just one hand. The unique design was created by the Danish designer Erik Magnussen and is produced in Denmark since 1977. Today the vacuum jug is a design icon around the world. The jug holds 1 liter and can be used for coffee and tea. The insulating glass insert keeps the liquid hot for hours - or cold, if the jug is used for e.g. ice tea. Besides the rocker stopper it has a screw cap for picnics and transportation of liquids.
Erik Magnussen was born in 1940 in Copenhagen and trained as a ceramist at the School of Applied Arts and Design. He graduated with a silver medal in 1960 and went on to work with porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl where he created everyday porcelain in simple geometric shapes. Magnussen also designed functional furniture, for example, but is probably best known for the EM77 thermos, which he designed for Stelton. A stylish design classic that put Danish design on the world map.
The name Stelton was created by two friends Stellan and Carton who joined their first names together. The range consists of stainless steel products for the kitchen. Stelton's DNA comes from well-known products, which are highly functional and affordable.
Together with talented and carefully selected designers, it is their ambition to create timeless and functional designs that make everyday life a little nicer. Timelessness, simplicity, functionality and innovation are the keys to success.
