Canadian Francis Cayouette was educated in Montreal and Paris. Since 1999, he has run his agency Unit10 design from Copenhagen. In cooperation with Scandinavian and international companies, he works on product innovation and development for both large-scale and small series productions.
His designs are characterised by a strong empathy for everyday life with a sense of the industrial and functional aspects of design. Francis has designed many different products, from home accessories to smart storage elements and elegant lifestyle products.
"When I start a project I always focus on the need rather than the product, it's about finding the right balance between form language, practical function and practicality in a clear and understandable product. I want the result to be surprising and innovative, but it should also be honest and feel very natural."
The name Stelton was created by two friends Stellan and Carton who joined their first names together. The range consists of stainless steel products for the kitchen. Stelton's DNA comes from well-known products, which are highly functional and affordable.
Together with talented and carefully selected designers, it is their ambition to create timeless and functional designs that make everyday life a little nicer. Timelessness, simplicity, functionality and innovation are the keys to success.
