With three generations of research, development, and experience in creating functional grape-specific glassware, Georg and Maximilian Riedel challenged themselves to improve on what had been done before. The result is Performance - a technologically advanced and user-friendly collection of wine glasses for specific grape varieties.
Performance is the first ever Riedel wine glass series with bowls featuring a light-optical effect. Detailed research by the Riedel family, focused on enhancing the drinking experience, revealed that increasing the inner surface area of the glass had a positive impact on the perception of the bouquet and taste of the wine.
This was achieved through a unique optical effect, a scalloped rim, which not only adds an attractive visual aspect to the bowl but also increases the inner surface area. This increased inner surface area allows the wine to open up and showcase all its aromas and nuances.
