The needle is the centerpiece of the technology of Coravin. The Coravin-needle, easily pierces cork without moving the cork's material. Once the needle is removed, the cork simply springs back to its normal mould. As wine is extracted through the needle, it is replaced by pure Argon gas so oxygen will never reach the remaining wine. This keeps the wine as fresh as the day it was bottled.

What types Coravin Needles are there?

Coravin-needles are specially designed to pierce natural or agglomerated cork so you can pour wine without opening the bottle. Below we explain the differences between needles:

Standard Needle: This is the replacement needle for most Coravin-wine storage systems.
Faster Pour Needle: This is wider than the standard needle so you can pour faster. It is recommended for use on corks that are in good condition.
Vintage Needle: The Vintage Needle is thinner than the Standard Needle, for use with older, weaker corks.
Premium Needle: This needle features a multi-hole design for many times smoother pouring.
