Recipes Vegan Beverages Sugar Free

When I'm dreaming up recipes, I sometimes wonder why the ready-made versions have such a huge pile of sugar going into them. Take a milkshake. The vanilla milkshake from McDonalds, for example, contains 325kcal and 60grams of carbohydrates. There is no mention of exactly where those carbs come from, but my suspicion is that much of it is (refined) sugar. So is that really necessary, I wondered? Well, no. I made this dairy-free vegan vanilla milkshake with no added sugars and was very pleased with the taste.

Recipe

Vegan vanilla milkshake

A milkshake on occasion is very tasty, but all those sugars are not. Fortunately, this vegan vanilla milkshake is sugar-free and low in carbohydrates.

Ingredients

  • 15ml vanilla extract or pith of a vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 200ml soy milk
  • 1 banana
  • ice cubes

Vegan vanilla milkshake

    1. Put the soy milk with the banana, cinnamon and vanilla in a blender.
    2. Blend lightly in about 1 minute and then pour the milkshake into a large glass of ice cubes. Serve

Then why add all those sugars? First, it promotes the shelf life. In addition, many people are used to such mountains of sugars that the taste buds immediately sound the alarm if something is not sweet enough. And so manufacturers throw more and more sugar through food. Because please note, Light products also contain sugar, but often a worse variant. Misleading, because many people think they are on the right track because the Light variants contain fewer calories.

I wander. Although there is no sugar in it, the milkshake is sweet. Not too, but just tasty. In addition, it is vegan, which means that there are no animal products such as milk. Preferably make it with the marrow of a vanilla pod, then you will keep it completely healthy. If you don't have that at home, feel free to use vanilla extract. With the quantities that are below you can make two big milkshakes. You can't keep it (I think) for too long, anyway the airiness goes off, so prefer to serve immediately. Enjoy it!
