Put the butter in a Baking bowl and mix it with a mixer for one minute until the butter is soft. Then add the sugar and mix for a few minutes until smooth.
Then add the egg and mix for a few more minutes. Then sift the self-rising baking flour into the dough a little at a time. Mix this together until you get a doughy texture. If it is a little too dry, you can add a little milk. With me, the dough is often still moist enough.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Prepare a Baking tray with baking paper or a silicone baking mat.
Next, it's time to knead! Break the chocolate bars into pieces and use your hands to knead the pieces through the dough so that the pieces are well distributed throughout the dough.
Make circles of the dough and place them on the Baking tray. I always make the cookies nice and big, often the dough rounds are as big as the palm of my hand. Be careful not to put them too close together or they will melt together in the oven into one big cookie! I therefore often bake the cookies in several rounds in the oven.
Put the cookies in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes. They are done when the edges have turned light to golden brown. In the middle, the cookies look a bit underdone, but they will continue to cook outside the oven. This keeps the chocolate nice and creamy!
Cookie time! Enjoy your meal
