In the series Gourmet of the brand Microplane are a number of graters, including the Microplane Grater Gourmet Star. The graters of Microplane are the only graters which are laser cut. This distinguishes the graters from many other brands and therefore has a positive effect on the longevity of the graters. The blade is made of 18/10 stainless steel, to which an ergonomic handle with soft grip is attached. This handle is made of plastic.
