How to maintain a Le Creuset Tajine?
Before first use: make sure all labels have been removed. Wash the skillet with warm water and dish soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Tip: Use Le Creuset Cleaning agent to Enamelled and glazed materials to clean and restore shine!
Cooking
Always use oven gloves when handling hot objects. Also, use only silicone, wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils. DO NOT use knives or metal utensils, as this may leave marks and scratches.
Use the Tajine on the cooker with the most appropriate size, this ensures that the food cooks more evenly and reduces the risk of damaging handles and edges.
Cooking on medium or low heat produces the best results, even for baking and roasting. If you do need to use high heat, lower the setting once the desired heat is reached.
Lift rather than slide the tagine off the surface. With lifting, you avoid damaging the bottom of the tagine or the surface.
Cleaning
Wait to clean until the tagine has cooled. Wipe any residue off the bottom and edges of the product.
If any food has caked on, fill the product with warm water and dish soap and soak for +/- 20 minutes before cleaning in the usual way.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal, abrasive or stiff cleaning cloths or brushes on the surface.
After washing, dry the pan thoroughly and store it in a dry place.
