To end my vacation in Greece (today I fly back to the Netherlands) here is my favorite recipe For Greek tzatziki with goat yogurt. Tzatziki is one of my guilty pleasures; I love it. This version is made with goat yogurt instead of the normal Greek (cow) yogurt. It is a recipe from my mother, who in turn got it from my aunt, who has lived in Greece for 30 years with my Greek uncle. So an original Greek recipe!

Tzatziki with goat yogurt

    1. Grate the cucumber roughly, sprinkle with some salt and drain for fifteen minutes in a sieve
    2. Put the goat yogurt in a bowl. Squeeze the remaining moisture from the cucumber and add it to the yogurt.
    3. Finely chop the dill with scissors above the dish of yogurt and cucumber and season with some salt and pepper.
    4. Squeeze the garlic cloves with a garlic press and do this even with the Tzatziki. Mix well. Do you use the normal (thick) Greek yogurt? Then add a little olive oil.
