Homemade pesto

  • Frying pan
  • Knife
  • Weck jar

Ingredients

  • 80 gr. fresh basil
  • 70 gr. pine nuts
  • 100 gr. Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 350 ml. olive oil

Homemade pesto

    1. Roast the pine nuts until golden brown in the frying pan and then let them cool well, for example by spreading them over the counter.
    2. Peel the garlic cloves and cut the cheese into cubes.
    3.  Put the garlic and cheese in the food processor and let it turn until you have large pieces.
    4. Add the cooled pine nuts and let it turn.
    5. Now add the basil leaves. Let the machine run and slowly add the olive oil until you have reached the desired substance. You may use a little more or less oil.
    6. Make sure that you do not let the machine run unnecessarily long: friction creates heat and therefore the taste of the pesto can become bitter.
