You don't see it much on my blog, but I can so enjoy a good piece of meat. Stew in particular; I love meat that has been cooked for hours at a low temperature. Often it is quite a hassle and I don't like leaving the fire on when I am not at home. But with the slow-cooker, this is a thing of the past. Whole chicken in slow-cooker

Stewing a whole chicken in the slow cooker is a healthy and easy way to prepare a juicy, tender meal. The chicken is stuffed with a mixture of onion, garlic, sage and thyme and slow-cooked for 6 hours in its own liquid. The dish requires no extra butter or oil and pairs perfectly with side dishes such as sweet potato fries and a fresh salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 handful of sage to taste
  • 1 handful of thyme to taste

Whole chicken in slow-cooker

    1. Finely chop the onion, cut the garlic into slices and finely chop the sage leaves. Love the garlic separately. Mix the other garlic, onion and sage together with the thyme.
    2. Put this mixture in the chicken and tie the legs. Coat the top with a little oil, and sprinkle some sage and thyme on top. Put ⅓ of the garlic that you have kept separate under the sheet of the chicken.
    3. Put the chicken in the slow cooker, set the timer to 6 hours on position 2. After two hours you can pour the moisture that comes out of the chicken and repeat it after two hours. For example, make it sweet potato fries From the oven and a fresh salad with avocado.
