This healthy and quick quinoa breakfast is a great start to your day. Quinoa has been discussed quite a bit in recent years. At least by me. Does it belong to grains or not, because technically it is a seed. People call it a pseudo-grain. What that means is that is not officially labeled as a grain, but is sort of put in that category by most people and even nutritionists.

Healthy and quick quinoa breakfast

This quick quinoa breakfast is a delicious, healthy and nutritious start to your day. The quinoa is cooked in almond or soy milk and flavored with agave syrup and cinnamon. The whole thing is topped off with blueberries, which you can mix as you choose or add later for a fresh bite. For extra crunch, you can add almonds, pecans or flaxseed. This nutritious breakfast is packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber, and is easy to adjust to your own sweet preference by using more or less sweetener. Perfect for starting the day off right!

Ingredients

  • 50 grams of quinoa
  • 250 milliliters almond milk/soy milk
  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 75 grams of blueberries (fresh/thawed)

How to make a healthy and quick quinoa breakfast?

    1. Rinse the quinoa well to wash away so -called saponins. They give the quinoa a bitter taste and that is not tasty.
    2. Put the quinoa and the soy milk in a medium -sized pan and bring to the kook. Stay in the kitchen and let the quinoa simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Occasionally stir well, otherwise the quinoa sticks to the bottom.
    3. When the quinoa has cooked for 15 minutes, stir in a teaspoon of agave syrup and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well. You can also stir the blueberries directly through it, but the quinoa will then color a little blue.
    4. So I garnish the quinoa with blueberries and stir it at the table. Also delicious with some almonds, pecans or linseed. Don't you think the quinoa is sweet enough? Then stir in a teaspoon of syrup or vanilla extract.
