Recipes Baking Bread Lunch

Cloud bread; suddenly it was there and the name (what the hell is cloud bread???) made me want to make it myself. So cloud bread, a thing that came over from America. It's very low in calories, low-carb, gluten-free and high in protein. Sounds super good, right? Recipes can be found everywhere and they are almost all the same, except that one recipe uses sugar substitutes like stevia. In addition, you can use either cream cheese or cottage cheese, so that too might be worth experimenting with.

Recipe

Cloud bread

These buns look like little clouds on your plate. Delicious for in between meals or for dipping in sauces.

Preparation time

Total 30 min

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs (M)
  • 3 tablespoons cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • half teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt

Cloud bread

    1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
    2. Cover a baking sheet with baking paper while the oven heats up.
    3. Separate the protein and egg yolk and beat the proteins in a fat -free bowl until peaks arise.
    4. Beat the egg yolk, together with the Hüttenkase, honey, baking powder and salt. This will be a creamy mixture.
    5. Then carefully scoop the egg yolk mixture through the whipped proteins with a spatula.
    6. Spoon with a spoon of balls of the mixture on the baking sheet. You can make between 12 and 15, depending on how large you make the balls.
    7. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, until they are nicely golden brown. Enjoy!

This time I chose Hüttenkase and used honey as a sweetener. No worries, there is only a tablespoon in it and you make 15 sandwiches with it. I love Cloud Bread! Fair is fair, it is not real bread, because there is no flour in it, it lacks the structure of bread. You can't really cut it open to invest, for example. But it is a very tasty replacement and super easy to make.

Certainly if you try to eat low carbohydrate or you just want a protein -rich snack, then these cloud breads are very suitable. Also delicious if you eat gluten -free! And if you prefer not to use honey, you can try Stevia as a sweetener. These sandwiches do not need much sweet. Are you going to try them once?
