  • 1/4 lemon
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

Salmon tartare cakes with sesame-avocado

    1. Line the small bowls with plastic wrap. If you have ring molds, that's even easier. I just didn't have them on hand, so this works too. Take a sharp knife, remove the skin from the salmon and cut the fillet into small dice. Mix the salmon cubes with the soy sauce and the lemon juice.

    2. Press the salmon mixture into the bowls (if you're making this dish for a dinner, you can prepare the bowls in advance, keep them in the fridge and finish the rest of the dish on the night itself).

    3. Mash half the avocado with a fork and divide it between the two bowls. Slice the other half of the avocado thinly and roll the slices in the sesame seeds. Turn the bowls over onto the plates, gently lift them off and remove the plastic wrap. Garnish the salmon tartare cakes with the sesame-avocado strips. Time to eat!

This dish is perfect when you want to treat your guests without spending hours in the kitchen. You can press the salmon tartare into the bowls in advance and keep them in the fridge until serving time.

If you don't have small bowls to hand, ring molds work excellently as an alternative. That way you'll get neat, clean shapes that look polished on any plate.
