Equipment

  • Highball glasses
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Strainer or sieve
  • Measuring cup or jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • 60 ml white rum (per person)
  • 100 ml mango juice
  • 50 ml passion fruit juice
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice
  • 15 ml grenadine
  • Sparkling water or ginger beer to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slice and a piece of mango for garnish

How to make a Tropical Sunrise cocktail?

    1. Put ice in your highball glasses so they're nicely chilled while you make the cocktail.
    2. Combine the white rum, mango juice, passion fruit juice and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Add a generous handful of ice.
    3. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels icy cold.
    4. Strain the cocktail from the shaker and pour it over the ice in the highball glasses, filling them about three quarters full.
    5. Slowly pour the grenadine over the back of a spoon into the glass. This lets it sink to the bottom and creates that beautiful color gradient from red to yellow.
    6. Top with a splash of sparkling water or ginger beer if you want an extra fizzy kick.
    7. Garnish with a lime slice and optionally a piece of mango on the rim. Serve immediately and enjoy.

A good cocktail deserves a good glass. Generous highball glasses give you room for plenty of ice, a beautiful layer of grenadine and an elegant garnish. Sturdy, stylish and suitable for everyday use: they help you get more out of every summery moment at the table.

Want to serve the Tropical Sunrise alcohol-free? Simply replace the rum with extra mango juice or an alcohol-free rum alternative. Just as festive, for everyone at the table. Cheers!
