All to your taste

As the name suggests, you use a rice cooker to cook rice. A rice cooker is an electric household appliance that allows you to easily cook rice. All you have to do is add your rice and water to the pot and turn it on. The rice cooker then cooks the rice in the water until it reaches the correct boiling point. This way, after just a few minutes, you have perfectly cooked rice that you can serve immediately!

Small rice cooker

Are you looking for a small rice cooker, for example, one without PFAS? In our range, you will find rice cookers varying from 800 ml up to 2 liters. These are available in various designs. For example, you can choose a Le Creuset variant that looks exactly like the classic Le Creuset casserole dish. Do you prefer a sleek and modern design? Then choose rice cookers from Cuisinart or Crockpot. Not sure which size you need? Check the product information to see how many portions of rice you can make with the specific rice cooker.

How does a rice cooker work?

A rice cooker works very simply. You add your rice and water to the pot and set it to boil. When your rice is cooked, the rice cooker automatically switches to the keep-warm function. Let your rice rest for a few minutes and stir it briefly before serving. Cooking the perfect rice yourself is actually quite a tricky task, but with a rice cooker, this is remedied. Your rice cooker cooks the rice for you by heating the water inside.

How much water in the rice cooker?

A rule of thumb for how much water to add is a fingertip's worth of water above the rice. This may vary slightly depending on the type of rice. For sticky rice, add a little more water. For soft rice, add a little less water. Are you cooking brown rice? Then use more water. You can also easily cook sushi rice in the rice cooker and put delicious sushi on the table. Be sure to check out our cookbooks to see how to do that!

Why a rice cooker?

A rice cooker is easy and simple to use. You can put the perfect rice on the table in no time. Any type of rice can be used in a rice cooker. The biggest advantage of a rice cooker is that you can always serve perfectly cooked rice! Your rice will no longer boil over, and you won't have to deal with a hot pan anymore. So you no longer have to keep an eye on your rice or struggle with draining it. This way, you will never have to deal with rice boiling over again!

What to look for when buying a rice cooker

Would you like to buy a rice cooker, but have no idea what to look for? Don't worry. We have created a handy overview of points to consider when buying the most suitable rice cooker.

  • Capacity: The capacity is an important point to start with. After all, for how many people will you be cooking rice? Determine how many portions of rice you usually cook and choose a rice cooker with a capacity that matches this. The product information often states how many portions the rice cooker can cook.
  • Electric or heat source: Some rice cookers are electric, while other variants are placed on a heat source to cook the rice. If you choose a rice cooker that uses a heat source, pay close attention to which heat sources they are suitable for and whether this fits the heat source you use for cooking.
  • Non-stick coating: Does the pan have a non-stick coating? If so, you prevent rice from sticking to your pan, which saves you a lot of cleaning. Removable inner pot: Unfortunately, you will still have to do the washing up yourself. If the rice cooker has a removable inner pot, washing the pan becomes much easier. If you value convenience, a rice cooker with a removable inner pot is ideal. Automatic shut-off: Rice cookers equipped with an automatic shut-off stop cooking as soon as the food is ready. While the cooker is preparing your rice, you can leave for a moment with peace of mind.
