Zwilling Gourmet knives are made from a single piece of special compound steel, making the Friodur blade ice-hardened and corrosion-resistant. Friodur refers mainly to the process of hardening. Initially, the steel is heated to over 1,000°C, after which it is placed in a kind of freezer to quickly cool down to 800°C. From then on, the cooling process is slower. The ergonomic handle ensures that Zwilling's knives sit well in the hand and offer an excellent grip while cutting and peeling.
