Different non-stick coatings

Nowadays there are many pans on the market with different non-stick coatings. Maybe you are already familiar with them, but it's also possible that sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. No problem: we are happy to explain to you which non-stick coatings exist so that you can make a choice from our wide range of frying pans, frying pans or wok pans!

No non-stick coating

Non-stick pans can withstand high temperatures of up to 400℃. This makes the pan ideal for searing meat. A non-stick pan consists of one type of material, such as cast iron or stainless steel. To ensure that the pan remains beautiful and usable, you must maintain it properly. For example, a non-stick pan cannot go in the dishwasher and you must oil it regularly to build up a natural non-stick coating. Cleaning is done with hot water and a cloth.

Standard non-stick coating

This non-stick coating is a PFOA-free layer of plastic: PFTE. Because PFOA is no longer used in this layer, it is not harmful to your health. In a pan with a standard non-stick coating, you can prepare dishes without using a lot of oil or butter. Because the layer prevents ingredients from caking, the pan is particularly suitable for delicate ingredients, such as eggs, fish and pancakes. A standard non-stick coating is suitable for temperatures up to 260 ℃, after that the non-stick coating damages.

Ceramic non-stick coating

Pans with a ceramic non-stick coating can withstand temperatures up to 400 ℃ and provide a crispy coating around your ingredients. Because of this, these pans particularly suitable for frying meat and vegetables. The layer of ceramic must be cleaned by hand and thus cannot be put in the dishwasher. Is the pan discolored? Enamel non-stick coating

Enamel is a protective layer of rock-hard-melted glass that covers both the inside and the outside of the pan. Thanks to this layer, the prepared food remains the most pure and retains its original taste. You don't have to burn in cast iron or sheet steel pans with an enamelled non -stick coating and has an unlimited service life. Never clean the pan in the dishwasher, then the enamel layer becomes dull and you increase the chance of scratches. Brown spots in the pan?
