With this cold crisp weather, I think it's time for a delicious winter cocktail. We spend a lot of time in the house this time of year and I like to go out a bit. On Sunday afternoons I often put a delicious drinks board on the table. With that I often choose a beer or wine, but this time I made a nice cocktail. This winter cocktail with Cabernet Sauvignon and rosemary honey syrup was a real hit!

  • Red wine glass or cocktail glass sauce pan

Ingredients

  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • 240 ml honey
  • 120 ml water
  • 83 ml Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 38 ml rosemary syrup
  • 15 ml cherry juice
  • 1 wedge of lemon juice
  • powdered sugar for garnish

How do you make the winter cocktail?

    Rosemary honey syrup

    Heat the water in a saucepan, just before it comes to a boil add the sprigs of rosemary. Let this steep for 5 to 7 minutes with a closed lid

    Then take out the rosemary and stir in the honey until it is dissolved and a syrupy texture is formed.

    Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

    Your rosemary honey syrup is ready, it is best to store the syrup in the refrigerator after it reaches room temperature.

    Winter cocktail

    For this cocktail, it is best to use a red wine glass with or without a foot for the best taste and, of course, a nice look.

    Add the cabernet sauvignon, rosemary honey syrup, cherry juice and lemon juice to the glass, stir briefly and finish your cocktail with a little powdered sugar for garnish. Cheers! Don't forget to make a delicious drink plate to go with it?
