Preparation time

Preparation time 20 min
Time in oven 15 min
Total 1 h 15 min

Ingredients

  • 250 grams of spelt flour
  • 3.5 grams of yeast
  • 125 ml lukewarm water
  • dash of olive oil
  • generous pinch of salt (approx. 3 grams)

Making spelt rolls

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
    2. Use a food processor or a mixing bowl and add the flour, yeast and salt.
    3. As you turn on the food processor, slowly add the lukewarm water and the olive oil. If you like it, you can of course add some seeds and seeds to the dough. Low the machine the dough knead for about 5 minutes.
    4. Turn the dough small balls (the size of a large golf ball) and place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Is the dough too wet? Add a little flour. Make balls until the dough is finished.
    5. Place a clean tea towel over the balls and let it rise for about 40 minutes.
    6. Cut the balls over the top with a knife and sprinkle some flour over it. You can now also use poppy seeds or sesame seeds, push them a little in the top of the ball.
    7. Bake in about 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Of course they are very nice for a brunch or at a Sunday breakfast and you can invest them with everything you want! Super tasty with some homemade pesto (with goat cheese) or hummus. Or with some slices of smoked salmon and avocado and a lettuce leaf. In fact, they are nice everywhere!

What is also nice to serve them in a basket when people come to eat. Or of course on a bread board with a cartel knife. Wasn't fresh sandwiches the tastiest? Make them in advance and then fry them briefly when everyone is sitting at the table. Your guests will be grateful!
