Equipment

  • Large glasses
  • Long stirring spoon
  • Vegetable peeler or mandoline
  • Measuring cup or jigger
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 50 ml dry gin (per person)
  • 30 ml elderflower cordial (per person)
  • 100 ml plain or lemon kombucha (per person)
  • Sparkling water to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Half a cucumber, cut into thin ribbons
  • Fresh mint leaves

How do you make a summery Elderflower Gin Spritz?

    1. Fill your glasses generously with ice cubes. The more ice, the colder your cocktail stays.
    2. Pour 50 ml gin over the ice in each glass.
    3. Add 30 ml elderflower cordial per glass.
    4. Stir briefly with a long spoon so the gin and elderflower blend well.
    5. Top up the glass with 100 ml chilled kombucha (plain or lemon) and a splash of sparkling water to taste.
    6. Garnish with a lemon slice, a few thin cucumber ribbons and a fresh sprig of mint.
    7. Serve immediately and enjoy. Cheers!

A beautiful cocktail deserves a beautiful glass. Large, clear glasses with room for ice and garnishes make serving much more fun and the experience considerably better. Choose glasses with some character so the eye enjoys them even before the first sip.

Want to vary? Replace the kombucha with tonic for a more classic gin-and-tonic base, or use pink elderflower cordial for an extra cheerful color. With a good glass and the right ingredients, any summer evening becomes something delicious to share.
