  • Mixing bowl
  • Grater
  • Paper towels
  • Small bowl for the dip

  • 300 g large raw shrimp, peeled and cleaned
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 lime, sliced (for serving)
  • For the dip:
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • Juice and zest of 1/2 lime
  • Pinch of salt

How to make crispy air fryer shrimp with garlic-lime dip?

    1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. This is important for a truly crispy result.
    2. Put the shrimp in a bowl and toss them with the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Make sure each shrimp is well coated.
    3. Place a sheet of parchment in the air fryer basket. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer on the parchment so the hot air can circulate well around them.
    4. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Cook the shrimp for 7 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through so they cook evenly.
    5. Meanwhile make the dip: mix the mayonnaise with the garlic, the lime juice, the lime zest and a pinch of salt. Stir well and keep chilled until serving.
    6. Remove the shrimp from the air fryer as soon as they're nicely golden brown and crispy. Immediately sprinkle with some freshly chopped parsley.
    7. Serve the shrimp straight away with the garlic-lime dip and lime wedges on the side. Enjoy!

The perforated parchment in the air fryer basket is really the smart move here. The shrimp won't stick, the hot air circulates freely and you can rinse the basket clean afterwards. More enjoyment, less washing up.

This recipe also works well with chicken pieces, cauliflower florets or tiger prawns. Vary the spices to taste: a touch of cayenne or some cumin and you'll have a different snack each time. That's how you get the most out of your air fryer.
