Equipment

  • Crêpe pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or mixer
  • Ladle
  • Spatula
  • Tea towel

Ingredients

  • 200 g flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 400 ml milk
  • 30 g melted butter, plus extra for cooking
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g Nutella (or more, to taste)

How do you make crêpes with Nutella?

    1. Put the flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Add the eggs and whisk them lightly.
    2. Gradually add the milk while stirring, so you get a smooth batter without lumps. Finally add the melted butter and a pinch of salt.
    3. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes on the counter. This will make the crêpes easier to flip later.
    4. Heat your crêpe pan over medium heat and grease the base with a small knob of butter.
    5. Pour a small ladleful of batter into the pan and immediately tilt the pan so the batter covers the entire base in a thin layer.
    6. Cook the crêpe for about 1 to 1.5 minutes until the edges release and the bottom is light golden. Then carefully flip it and cook another 30 seconds.
    7. Repeat this with the rest of the batter. Place the cooked crêpes on a plate and cover them with a tea towel so they stay warm and pliable.
    8. Spread each crêpe generously with Nutella, fold into quarters or roll them up. Serve immediately and enjoy.

The key to a perfect crêpe is your pan. Low sides, an even base and a non-stick coating that actually works make the difference between a mess and effortless flipping. Choose a quality crêpe pan and you'll be cooking them effortlessly every time.

Want to vary it? Add fresh strawberries or banana slices alongside the Nutella, or dust the crêpes with a little powdered sugar for an extra tasty touch. This recipe is also great to make with children because they can top their own crêpe.
