Induction percolator

If you don't have a gas stove but induction, you can choose the induction percolator. This coffee maker is specially made for induction. Even when you choose an induction espresso maker, you have a wide choice of different types and sizes. The advantage of a percolator on induction is that it is very energy-efficient. No energy is lost because only the bottom of the coffee maker is heated. With this percolator, you make the most delicious espresso or cappuccino. The perfect layer of foam for the cappuccino is made with one of our milk frothers. To then pour it into beautiful matching cappuccino cups and finish it off with a thin layer of cocoa.

Espresso maker

You make delicious cups of espresso with an espresso maker. By adding ground coffee to the appliance, you can brew coffee in a traditional way. Perhaps not as modern as an electric coffee machine, but definitely an authentic experience. The beauty of an espresso maker is that, due to its small size, you can easily take it anywhere. This way, you can make a tasty espresso on the gas burner at the campsite, provided the coffee percolator is suitable for gas, of course. Would you like a glass that keeps your espresso warm for longer? Then double-walled glasses are ideal for you!

Stainless steel percolator

Stainless steel is an extremely popular material for kitchen utensils and appliances. The stainless steel percolator is also a highly sought-after product. These appliances look exceptionally stylish and therefore fit perfectly on any countertop. Stainless steel is also very practical. You can easily clean your stainless steel percolator with just water. The steel is highly resistant to corrosion and therefore has a long lifespan. This way, you can brew the tastiest cups of coffee for years to come!

What is a percolator?

Chances are you've heard of a percolator before, but what exactly is it? A percolator is a kitchen appliance that allows you to brew coffee using ground coffee and water. How it works exactly is explained below. Percolators have existed since the 18th century, but their popularity declined in the 1970s. That's when electric coffee machines came along, making coffee brewing much easier. Yet the percolator has made a comeback in recent years. This is not without reason, as brewing coffee with a percolator offers an authentic experience. Additionally, the coffee tastes great.

TIP: use a coffee grinder from Cookinglife to grind fresh beans.

How does a percolator work?

The percolator makes strong, refined coffee with a deep flavour through steam pressure. A percolator is not specifically designed to make espresso, which is what many people often think.

How a percolator works

  • Fill the water reservoir. When you unscrew the bottom, you will first encounter the filter. Remove it before adding water. Make sure the water level in the percolator never rises above the valve.
  • Fill the filter with ground coffee. Make sure the filter is well filled and smooth the coffee out evenly.
  • Place the filter back in the water reservoir and carefully screw the percolator back together.
  • Place the percolator on the heat source. A percolator is suitable for almost every type of heat source, except for induction. Don't set the heat too high and keep an eye on the percolator.
  • Keep an eye on the percolator. You will notice that coffee gradually seeps into the upper part of the percolator. When this stops, the water has been used up. You can tell by the coffee bubbles coming out.
  • Remove the percolator from the heat source. The coffee is now ready to be poured!

Enjoy your cup of fresh coffee!

TIP: The percolator cannot go in the dishwasher. Rinse it immediately after use and clean it easily that way!

Authentic coffee brewing with a percolator

For lovers of traditional coffee, the percolator is an indispensable tool. This classic coffee maker brews coffee by circulating boiling water under pressure through ground coffee, resulting in a rich and full flavour. Whether you choose an aluminium model for quick heating or a stainless steel variant for durability, percolators offer a unique coffee experience that harks back to the origins of coffee brewing.

Maintenance for long-term use

To keep your percolator in optimal condition, regular maintenance is essential. Clean all parts after each use with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents that can damage the surface. Descale the percolator periodically, especially if you use hard water, to prevent limescale build-up and preserve the taste of your coffee. Consult the manual of your specific model for detailed maintenance instructions.
