The glasses are made of ultra-thin crystal glass which is very light. The Riedel Pinot Noir / Nebbiolo Wine Glasses are made to bring out the fruity tones of the wine. The convexity in the chalice allows the flavours of the wines to come into their own. As a result, the acidity is perfectly balanced and the taste of alcohol is muted.
What wines can be served in this glass?
In the summer of 2018, Georg Riedel was asked by a client to create "the ultimate glass" for Cabernet Sauvignon, a project that would inspire the Riedel Winewings collection. A new, unique shape of wine glasses was created: with a flat bottom, wide bowl and resembling the wing of an aeroplane. Riedel continued to develop the glasses, creating a collection with seven different glasses to represent the most popular grape varieties.
