Thanks to the high quality and cast aluminum, you can enjoy the Nordic Ware baking molds for a lifetime. Provided you treat the mold well before, during, and after baking, of course. The Nordic Ware baking molds all contain a non-stick coating, however, you will still need to grease the mold for the best and tastiest result. There are two ways to do this properly:
Once the mold is well greased, you can fill it with the batter, never fill the mold more than 2/3 full to prevent leakage. Then it's time to put your batter-filled mold in the oven. The temperature and baking time will depend on the recipe, so keep an eye on it.
To ensure that your cake comes out of the oven properly, it is best to use a thermometer to check the core temperature. Is your cake ready? Let it cool in the mold for 10 minutes before turning the mold over and sliding the cake out. Never use iron or metal knives, forks, or spoons to remove the cake from the mold. This will damage the aluminum, making it more difficult for the cake to come out of the mold next time. Once the cake is out of the mold, let it cool completely.
