The Forged Intense Santoku Knife 14 cm is the Japanese version of the chef's knife. The word 'santoku' means 'three virtues', a reference to the three cutting functions that the knife can fulfill: slicing, dicing, and mincing. Because of this versatility, it is considered an all-rounder in the kitchen. The Forged Intense knives are made of Japanese 440C Steel with a hardness of 58 Rockwell. All Forged knives are hand-forged, have a blade thickness of 2 mm, and a cutting angle of 18 degrees. The 14 cm Intense Santoku Knife is packaged in a luxury wooden box. Also available in an 18cm variant.
The Forged Intense series leans towards a traditional chef's knife in style, but still has those forged accents that are so characteristic of Forged.
In this series, the head is closed and beautifully polished. The forging method is exactly the same as for the other series, only the blade is polished considerably more, which gives it a sleeker and more subtle look than the Forged Brute and Forged Olive series. If you are looking for a special knife that is allowed to stand out in terms of appearance, but in a subtle way, then the Intense series is definitely for you.
