All Valira frying pans have a non-stick coating that is 100% PFOA-free. How nice! Many non-stick coatings do contain this substance, but PFOA has been banned since 2015. The reason for this? Non-stick coatings consist of PTFE. When a pan is often used at extremely high temperatures - at least 260 °C - the quality of PTFE deteriorates. As it disintegrates, the substance PFOA is released. PFOA is highly toxic and can cause health problems in the long run. Of course, you don't want this!
