The Alessi Corkscrew Alessandro M. AM23 Light Blue is a self-portrait of the designer Alessandro Mendini. The corkscrew is made of chrome-plated metal (zamac) and available in different colors. For instance, he designed the new building of the Groninger Museum, which was festively opened in 1994 by the then Queen Beatrix. In addition, he helped design the Paradise Tower in Hiroshima and the Ceramic Museum in Incheon, among other things.
Mendini has also worked with the Italian company Alessi. Among other things, he designed beautiful percolators and corkscrews for them.
Alessi is an Italian brand founded in 1921. The extensive range consists of tableware, kitchen accessories, bakeware, wine accessories and household items.
